College of Science
You will hear many schools talk about undergraduate research - here we are doing it. Honors students in the College of Science have the opportunity to apply for: summer research stipends, travel to professional conferences, or nearly anything else that would enhance their professional development.
Honors students can receive support during the summer to work closely with faculty and present their work at our annual summer symposia. We have sent students to regional and national conferences every year since the Honors Program began.
Honors students have been working in the disciplines of biology, polymer chemistry, physics, bioinformatics, mathematics, imaging science, and environmental science.
Program Requirements: Program requirements for science majors are the same whether or not a student is in the Honors Program. (There are additional Institute requirements for the Honors Program.)
Program Benefits: Our objective is to complement the normal degree requirements with exceptional opportunities for research and travel. We offer extra academic advising and have a faculty Honors Student Advocate in each department. RIT Honors students have early registration privileges too.
Questions: The College of Science Honors Advocate is Catherine Mahrt-Washington. Feel free to contact her
